This feature can be used to enter primers for your constructs. This is not yet a tool to design the primers, but we already know this would be very useful !
When you choose "Primer" from the left bar, a new panel appears on the right:
The Task panel allows you to create new primers, to save primers, and to refresh the primers list. The Explorer panel allows you to list all the primers already entered in the database. The top level in the explorer is the construct/group. When deploying (...)

The Construct and Group features allows you to define the object on which you will conduct your experiments. Note that even if you intend to work on the full length protein, you still have to define a construct.

HalX is divided in 7 sections that can be reached using the icons in the left bar. Target: enter new macromolecules in the database. A target will generaly be a full length macromolecule. If you are making genetic constructs from one protein, it is advisable to enter the full length protein as a target, then define the genetic constructs using "Construct or Group". Construct or Group: use this to define precisely the object of your experimental study. Note that an experiment should (...)

Installation instruction cover both Linux and Mac OSX operating systems. Installation under Windows is certainly possible, since this is a Java application, but I don’t know how !
To install HalX2.0, you must have the following packages already installed:
apache
java 1.5
ant
postgresql 8.0 or higher.
The best, and safest way to install HalX is to create a new user which only role will be to run HalX. For this documentation, this user will be "alfred"
Install Tomcat 5.5 or higher in (...)
